Privacy & Your Data

Privacy is core to Evora. The principle: your health data belongs to you.

How Evora handles your data

• On your device. Profile, meals, drinks, sleep and weight stay on your phone (on iPhone in SwiftData, on Android in the app's private storage). They are not synced to iCloud or to our servers.
• Health data stays local. Raw data from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) never leaves your device. Only cloud coaching and meal planning (Pro) use aggregated daily values such as steps or sleep duration.
• AI on your device. Choose in AI settings whether Evora's AI runs in the cloud or on your phone. On your phone, Evora's own downloadable models (from Hugging Face) plan meals, write recipes, rate products, coach you and recognize meals without sending your photos or descriptions anywhere; only food names and amounts go to our server for nutrition values. Without them, coach insights use Apple Foundation Models on iPhones with Apple Intelligence, and rules on your phone otherwise.
• Cloud AI only when needed. With cloud AI, photo and text meal recognition (Plus) send just that one input to our analysis service for one-off processing. Nothing is stored as user history. Only if you switch on "Improve Evora's AI" in AI settings (off by default) do we keep an anonymized text copy without your name or any link to you to train Evora's on-device AI.
• Your library, anonymously. Meals you save to your library are kept on our server under an anonymous account (a random ID, no name or e-mail). Its key lives in your iCloud Keychain on iPhone, and encrypted on your phone and in Google's Block Store on Android.
• Ads without tracking. The free version shows ads from our own ad server, with a random ID that only this app knows. No advertising ID, no tracking. Any subscription removes them.
• You're in control. Revoke any permission in your phone's settings (on Android also in Health Connect). "Reset local data" in Privacy controls deletes everything, including your library on our server.

Your controls

• Profile → Privacy & AI → AI settings — choose whether AI runs in the cloud or on your phone, download or delete the on-device models, and decide whether to help improve Evora's AI.
• iPhone: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health; Android: Health Connect — control what Evora can read or write.
• Reset local data — clear your data right from the app, including your library on our server.
